Default Boxer Piston Problems

Hi all,
as you can tell from my profile name im into my Renault 4s but because Renault dont make a decent motorhome ;-) I have a 1997 Peugeot Boxer 2.0i with the XU10J2 Engine. The problem i have is NO1 piston has started knocking due to a overheat around the bore. The piston is worn after inspection and new rings and shells etc have not stopped it which is expective. Standard Pistons are NLA and ive also been in contact with MAHLE in Germany which is a no go also. Having chatted to a dealer today they told me that one of there branches has a brand new XU10TE which has been sitting around for many years and has been offered to me. The engine is for the Turbo models but they cant see anything different to mine exterior wise. My question is being its a Turbo version will it have the lower compression than my original and if i fit it will it still pull. Mine is not the most powerfull as its pulling 3.5T AROUND.

Looking forward to your expert opinions

regards
Andrew

Externally the turbo engine will be the same but as you say compression will be lower but it may not be too bad as the turbo version of that engine only produced a little more power than standard so ratios may not have been dropped much as im sure it was intercooled too so possibly no need for lower compression
