Default Boxer gearbox indentification please help

Hi,

I've just bought a 1999 on a V plate (in the UK) boxer van. It was bought cheap because gear 2 and 3 dont work, that is it wont go into gear. I understand the linkages can get seized on these boxers but I strongly belive it is the gearbox at fault. However I am having trouble in indentifying the correct gearbox.
Where exactly on the gearbox is the code as I cant seem to find it.
If its any help in anyone helping me identify the correct gearbox my chassis vin ends '15792236'
I spoke to the dealer who wasnt that helpful and just said that there's about 30 different variables of boxer which I find hard to believe.
any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Service box lists a KM64 or KMC7 Gearbox as a straight swap or you can use
a KM37, but you need the following parts to make it fit 1 PLASTIC GEAR 2649.38 + 1 ADAPTOR 2641.53
