You need to get it on planet/diagbox to read the codes and have a look at live data have a good read here it explains how to contact a member https://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/...members-83170/

That engine is prone to failure of various parts and is quite hard to find as it is shared with the transits so demand is high but supply is not !

If it was a timing chain issue then a new engine may well be the best option as its a slow tedious task to strip and rebuild them !

Does it run does it even turn over were there any noises prior to stopping.

Fault codes are not going to give you the answers if plugging in it needs live data readings to check various things you need someone who knows what they are doing not just fred down the pub with his handheld device.

Who said it needs an engine and why ?

If you feed us all the info then we can give better answers.

ok.
i think i understand
my brothers girlfriend works in a truck repair centre for mercedes.
she said that one of her mechanics said it needs a new engine.

so i guess i need a 2nd opinion??

when it stopped, it just cut out completely
and it didnt make no more noise than normal!!

she had it in her lock up for 4 weeks before looking at it!!
ODD
