Default 2.2 Puma engines

Not been on here for a while, seen a post earlier asking what a 2.2 ford lump is,its not technically a ford unit, its built by ford under license from psa,its used in quite a few applications, transits, boxers, relays, ducatos and lr defenders, commonly referred too as a puma engine, many confuse it with the other 2.2 used in the cars and lr freelander mk2,it does suffer some known faults, after 08 onwards(im not fully sure on age though)oil pumps disintegrate at high mileage,it can be fatal for the engine, they also suffer injector issues which in some cases can cause piston failure, alternators are another weak spot,we have run 2 now for some years and its essential oil is changed often and quality stuff, the boxer suffered oil pump failure but thankfully it was on start up,so no damage done, the older 06 van has a different pump ,all in,not bad vans, ours are up and down the motorway most days, very good on fuel economy and they drive like cars
