Default 1999 Boxer Motorhome cutting out

Hello All,

New to this so please bear with me...

I have a motor home that is based on a 1999 boxer model, when driving along the engine cuts out and I lose power. Once I have sat with no engine running for a little while it will start up and go again, then it will happen again, sometimes it will only happen once, other times it will be frequent. I have noticed that it is using a lot of water as well.. Any ideas what could be the issue???

Two issues probably unrelated, there are lots of coils in the engine management system for one reason or another in the sensors and ecu's. Coils can be fine cold but go open circuit when hot then be OK again after a period. I would change the tdc sensor (not sure where it is on your motor) as it is the most likely culprit.
Hopefully Reliable will give more advice.
