Default bipper towbar wiring

hello all
ive a 2011 bipper, got towbar fitted and apparently theres a quick fit wiring connecter. I had already wired it straight and all is fine except for brake lights, when brake lights are on the trailer ones go out in 1 second and so does the p/s one on van, doesn't blow bulb or fuse.
any help greatly appreciated

When you say you wired it straight, you mean you wired the additional lights direct to the existing loom?
If so it's hardly surprising you have problems. You should fit a bypass relay.

You can alternatively buy the Peugeot loom for a towbar - at a price. That does plug in, but not to just one place normally.
