Default Turbo whistling

I have an 807 2.2 hdi. When I pull away and accelerate the turbo is making a very high pitched loud whistle. Now I've had the motor for 3 years now (2005 plate) and the turbo noise has always been noticeable but not this loud. It's getting worse and if I put my foot down the whistle is accompanied by a small noise similar to a dentists drill. I can drive the car normal with the same amount of power, I've not got any blue or white smoke. Is the turbo on it's way out ? Dies it sound like something that can be repaired or re conned. Does this happen anyway with age and do I leave it till it goes or do something now? Any advice is much appreciated.
