Default Temperature gauge 807

Hi all

We have a niggling problem with our 807, when the engine is cold when started the temp gauge has a kind of fit and keeps going up to top dial (100) and beeping and the STOP comes on the steering wheel dash and it flashes telling us temp is to high, but as the engine is cold we know isn't a problem, once the car engine has reached a certain temp it doesn't happen again.

Just wondered if anyone else had the same or similar problem!!!

Many thanks

Ours did this for some years, replacing the thermostat helped a bit but it still does it occassionally. My best guess is that the thermostat is not quick enough to open and get the water flowing, it is very disconcerting to see the temp gauge at max after only covering 1 miles.
