Question Petrol to diesal coversion

Is it possible to swop the standard petrol lump for a diesal one

Anything is possible, given time and money. This just wouldn't be cost effective. You'd be much better off selling the petrol model and buying a diesel.

Have you considered an LPG conversion?

As above possible but not practical LPG will give you diesel economy without the drawbacks.
