Hi all great to be part of community
I’m looking to buy another 807 similar to one in my picture which was great car until clutch went then garages would not fix without spending fortune as couldn’t get bolts out. Captive nuts turning they said. I had no time to try myself so sold it- regrettfuly.
So hoping to get one the same but want same equipment. It had cruise control (with speed limiter not just for cruise) also sat nav screen which I prefer look of. Not to bothered which engine unless speed limiter only included with certain engines can anyone help with which combination to look for.
I think cruise with limiter option came after 2005.
Hope someone can help as Hopefully will be buying next month.

Can you buy the car back? You don't need to undo the captive nuts to the subframe, the control plate on top of the gearbox can be unbolted and this allows the gearbox to be rotated and slid into the gap between subframe and chassis rail. Best of all if you have one of the earlier models with the wing brace, the gearbox can be supported off this with a rope loop and slid along the brace to give the room to change the clutch so avoiding the need for a hoist. Even I managed to change the clutch on our old 807 and I only pretend to be a mechanic.

Wish I could but sadly not I’ve no idea where it is as moved since then lol.

So another one it will have to be. Same spec though.

I always take the engine out on these to do clutch as although it sounds extreme engine can be out in 2 hours i would never try to remove the subframe unless it needed replaced the nuts always break !

It can be done as wynb says but its still backbreaking work

As for the cruise/limiter question it is only on 2006 on models as it needs slightly different software to work we tried it on an older peugeot and the limit function would not work some early 307s had correct BSI to make it work though.

Personaly i would hunt down a 2.2 6 speed as the engine has bags of torque 2 litre is a bit slow compared to 2.2 which never feels strained i recon a 2.2 could give better fuel returns than the 2 litre because of this.

Hi thanks for reply , I am considering the 2.2 as that’s what I had and loved it.
Are there any known issues with autos , some I’ve seen advertised in past report fault codes or not operating correctly. I’m tempted to stick to 6 speed as you say more for economy and cruising.

Auto boxes are fine IF the oil is changed regularly most auto issues are caused by the stupid sealed for life system peugeot insisted on the oil gradually gets dirty/burntaway and this contaminates/overheats the valves.

With regular oil changes at least every 2 years these boxes are absolutely fine i have had some with over 300k miles on original gearbox

Brilliant , may consider these too then that’s helped to narrow down search a little and add another option , auto preferable but at least if getting manual go for 6 speed.
