Default Ideal running temp....

807 2.0hdi 07
Coolant temperature has never been above 74C. I was under the impression 85-90 is normal
Webasto is running all the time, when ambient outside temperature is below 10, even after a 3 hour motorway trip.
I'm assuming the above observations are linked.
According to the FAP app, engine fan comes on
Where do I start?
Is it a thermostat issue, electronic control, or something else?
Thanks in advance

74 degrees is fine your webasto has a fault though it should turn off at about 15 degrees i think cant remember but it should be off within 10 mins of starting no wonder your using more fuel !

My 2006 2.0tdi auto runs usually between 78-80oC motorway and normal driving, whether 30oC or 0oC ambients. It runs hotter around town, and cooler on a motorway run. 90+ is seen on stop/starting in traffic.
Not sure if any help to you, but thought I'll reply.

Thanks for the response...
New Thermostat fitted, now runs at 80ish degrees and the webasto turns itself off as it should 🤗
