Default Engine replacement nightmare!!!

Hello all,

Its been a while since I last posted. My last posts were all about my Cam belt snapping. Well after wondering what to do with it, I decided the quickest option would be to buy a reconditioned engine and have it fitted.... The belt snapped in June and I still have no car!!

2.2hdi 54 plate 807 Executive

Basically the replacement engine is now fitted, but the mechanic cannot get it to start. Plugging in the diagnostics machine brought up a fuel pressure fault. He decided to change the high pressure pump, but still we're having the same problems.
Apparently no other errors are coming up, the engine refuses to start, and everynow and then, he's still getting the fuel pressure fault.

Has anyone come accross this before, and if anyone can shed any light on this I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

You could have had it repaired by Peugeot if you had replied to my last post...

Peugeot wouldn't touch it madV after 7 years old. Plus the car didn't have a service last year when it was ready for one!

But thanks anyway.

Really!! because they will repair any vehicle up to a build code 1067,up to 100k and with a good service history as far as I know. Last one was a Citroen where a Colchester dealer refused to entertain the vehicle with one aftermarket service yet another dealer said recover it in as its service history was far better than the last two they did. Your dealer cannot be arsed mate - thats the problem.

Ok, but I don't suppose that now another garage has fitted a replacement engine, that I'll have a leg to stand on?

Do some googleing, you will find a number of folks that have managed to get peugeot to either fix it FOC or to contribute to the repair, but as MadV said, it depends on a number of things. A full comprehensive service history is one of them.
