Default Economy Mode Active - Non Starter

To cut to the chase, vehicle was acquired when previous owner gave up on trying to repair this problem. It is a non starter - engine will turn over but not fire. The MFD constantly shows 'Economy Mode Active' even when the battery has received full charge and a booster pack is connected. Before I got to the job a virginised BSI was fitted which is where I became involved as I have PP2000.

'New' BSI has been initialised (VIN and security codes) and configured and the 1 key available has been successfully learned by the system so it is not an immobililser issue. The vehicle is showing fault codes in the engine ECU relating to turbo solenoid and EGR valve, but I would not think that these would lead to failure to start.

I am suspecting that there may be mechanical reasons for the failure to start (fuel pump perhaps), but what is perplexing me at the moment is the failure to come out of economy mode. Next step is to check earth connections etc. (incidentally, batter earth strap seems solid), but is there anything else in particular I should look for or try?

Many thanks in advance.

PS. Car is diesel 807. When the ign+ is turned on there is no obvious sound of a primer pump working. Should there be?

It will not come out of economy mode unless it actually starts

go into live data and check cam and crank syncronisation fuel pressure while cranking and cranking speed

If cam and crank sync ok look inside rocker cover somehow and check both cams are turning

If it is seimens injection there is no lift pump again if siemens injection cam drive can break meaning no fuel delivery
