Default Battery charging dash light not working when not charging, but comes on with ignition

Hello.

Has any one had similar issue with a 807, or any Peugeot/Citreon?

The alternator failed on my 807 at the weekend, (2006 2.0Hdi auto). The battery light come on for a short period, and battery system fault flashed on the display a few times that morning, but they both went off again each time, even though when I check the battery voltage, it was under 11.7v. The dash battery light works with ignition on, but turns off whilst the engine is cranking over before starting up.

I changed the alternator for a new unit, and it is now charging perfectly, with a good battery.
But on checking the battery dash light (by running the engine with the Aux belt removed), the battery light does not stay on, even when there is charging and battery drops to 11.3v, and no faults pop up on the display (till the battery goes below 10v). I have checked and the dash light output on the alternator, and it is working as it should be, (earth when not charging, live when charging), and it seems the alternator car loom 2pin plug makes no difference if connected or not, as no battery light or faults when plugged in or not, when it's charging or not charging. (The 2pin plug, only 1 wire is used, the other is blanked in the plug). I have even run a live & a earth direct to the 2pin plug pin separately, which also don't change anything.

I'm thinking its either a issue with the wire to the control unit, or the control unit itself.
Has anyone experience this?
Or does have a wiring diagram to make it easier to trace?

Cheers in advance.

I had an intermittent battery charge fault on my old 807. It ended up being a faulty ignition switch. The final clue was when the battery fault occurred the map lights and few other circuits stopped working but if you wiggled the in key they would work and fault would clear

Cheers Windy.

I am quite certain it's not a intermittent or a charging fault, but I'll keep it in mind.

Did your issue cause fault codes?
