So the sliding door is closed, the handle seems to have disconnected inside the door.
My first thought is to take the panel off inside the door to have a look at the mechanism.
Is this possible with the door shut?!!
If it works from outside, then should be an easy fix as the retaining clip holding the linkage often lets it go.
If it doesn't work from outside, does the handle feel loose?
Mine sometimes fails to open if anything is jammed in the pathway, seat belt etc
feels completely loose inside and out,
I took off the interior handle surround,
and with some needle nose plyers tried to pull the lock and handle rods.
Thats not seemed to open it.
So the panel does come off with the door closed?
Have a mind to take the easy one off first on the open door,
just to see how it works.
How does the panel come off?
I can't remember to be honest, it's a while since I did one, although I have some door cards in the garage I could look tomorrow.
But from memory just some of those pesky plastic studs and maybe the odd screw.
They are renown for bits breaking off the outer handle thus causing you to buy a new handle.
