Default "53" 807 2.2hdi immobilizer fault

Had the car 3 years with no electrical gremlins, and they they strike last night. Driving along and then loose power and car cuts out. Won't start as the dash is showing immobilizer fault, i have had the engine bay fuse box out and cleaned it all up and sprayed switch cleaner. No blown fuses or anything in that fuse box. Tried to get PP running on it, but looks like the software has given up as well. What else should i be looking at, any ideas

Thanks

Immobiliser WONT cut the engine out so whatever caused it to cut out is causing the immobiliser fault its not the immobiliser thats the problem

sounds like you have lost power from somewhere or a broken earth check all the fuses on the BSI this is INSIDE car on drivers door post also check all the fuses at the battery box under drivers feet.

Brown or black double relay under bonnet could be issue too.

Where is the black/brown relay under the bonnet situated. Had the engine fuse box out and cleaned the fuses etc, none were blown. The wife thinks she saw a anti pollution fault flash up before we lost power.

Just put some fuel in, even though the gauge showed 3 bars and the bloody thing started up. But it is showing anti pollution fault on the dash. How many miles should 4L of the fluid last. I put 2l in at 72000 and its now on 92000. Warnings about low fluid wouldn't show as i reset the counters

That confirms what im saying you lost power IE voltage and that would generate various displays including antipollution.

Double relays are in various locations and not all have them 2003 model should still have it though they are usually next to ecu but 807 wiring is a bit strange so parts are not where they would be in other peugeots.

Owe you a big thanks on that one, wouldn't thought it was diesel till your suggestion. Do you know how long the DPF fluid should last, roughly how many miles for say 2L

Tankfull should last around 80K but as a set amount is injected each time the cap is opened it could be less if fuel has been put in by the tenner. Why not undo the tank and see if there is plenty left by feeling it's weight?
