Question 2.0 hdi intermittant start!!!

Hi everyone, well here we go,
i have a 2000 806 2.0 hdi and everything has been running fine but in the last six months it has had a new alternator and belt, new rear brakes and then over xmas the battery died! So went to get new battery to be told the old one was wrong (Too small) and was given one much bigger!
put it on and engine just cranked but would not start!?
got a jump of next door and after much cranking it started!
it then started fine for the next 24 hours but then just turning but no start.
i then realised that when trying i could not hear the fuel pump priming so thought this was culprit, arranged for garage to pick up and thought i would charge battery, next day put battery on and started first time!? took it garage where they had it for 5 days and started everytime
picked it up and problem comes back first time i stop!
this is now a very intermittant issue but have no idea
Any clues out there guys????

Crank or cam sensor. A diagnostic would help confirm which is defective

well everyone, spent all weekend with no joy so i got recovery guys on monday morn to take a look and still no pump priming up so on the truck it went and when we take it off at the garage it starts!!!
but when it is stopped wont start again!!
so have been told most likely problem is faulty lead or connection to the pump, now seeing as i have to go over 8 speed bumps just to get out of my road i can now see why a dodgy connection may have appeared.
will let evry body know when i get her back, and thanks for the replies guys!

Hi guys! sorry for not being on but my planet was done at peugeot stockport,
and afterwards it came back with no issue!!!!!!!
much poking around eventually got the fuel pump as the problem!
tech said that when tapped the pump jumped into life and then died when the engine stopped and wouldnt start again unless given a knock.
anyway should have the bus back by tuesday at latest, will let you know how she is then!!
have a great weekend guys, and thanx for the replies!!!!
