Default 1997 806TD Glow plug relacement

Hi All
I posted recently about starting troubles on my 1997 806TD
I had the car looked at by 2 garages and they couldn't get it started?
The conclusion was by them ... either the ECU or the diesel pump
I got the car back and with my limited knowledge started to diagnose and ask questions on here
Since my first post I have changed the glow plugs and the car started??

Next day.....same issue, no joy in starting

My question is, Can the glow plugs burn out so quickly?? I read somewhere that if the glow plug relay is faulty it can leave the plugs in the starting position

I had the car running for 30 mins?

Still reluctant to scrap this car

Any help, greatly appreciated

Thanks... Tom

Yes, they can burn out if the said relay is at fault although I've never come across it.

Easy enough to find out, just disconnect one of the plugs and take a piece of wire to it straight from the battery, if it sparks as you touch the top if the plug threads, it's probably ok. I know three of them are easy to access, but if three are ok chances are so id the 4th. Then your problem lies elsewhere. If they're gone, then you need to replace the relay.

As i said on the other thread tow start it again and if it starts fine chances are the relay is faulty the plugs on these can burn out quickly and this engine will NOT start without them unlike HDIs
