Default 1997 806 bonnet catch cableless release

Hi Guys

I'd appreciate any advice from somebody who's had experience of releasing the bonnet catch on an 806, without the benefit of an attached release cable! I went to check my oil level today, and found no resistance when I pulled the bonnet release lever from inside the cabin...hence the resulting problem.

I've tried looking from underneath, and I've tried sending a ruler into the gap between the grill and the bonnet, but there's little apparent access either way; even a link to a diagram of the under-bonnet release mechanism might be helpful.

Thanks for any helpful advice you might have.

Hi Colston,

I have been out to mine and taken these pics!!

Hope they help....

If you can get your hand up through the gap between the inlet and the rad you might be able to open it..

Hope this helps Mike
