Default Peugeot 508 II (2019)

Hello everybody,

It's been a month since a got my Peugeot 508 II 2019 2.0 HDi 180AT Gt-Line Black, and this is my expirience with it:

1. The car looks fabiolous, at the moment probably the most modern looking car, at this price range.
2. Interior is perfect also, just like you can see on images.
3. Interior material is let just say around 8/10, because you can for example hear plastic rattle in front window ventilation when you hit the bump on the road, which is sometimes pretty annoying. But overall quality is ok it feels nice and soft.
4. For this car size i expected more comfort in the front and in the back. The doors is quite small, and for me (i am 180cm) there is just enough space for my legs and for example i can't put my left elbow on left door to rest, because the there is no space to put, very strange. In the back only regular sized people can fit, because the space is very limited in the both head and leg space.
5. Visibility is also very limited, especialy the back window, and thats why you really need back camera (btw the resolution of that camer is let say ok, but it could be better).
6. The trunk is nice and wide, and electronic tailgate is mandatory because the trunk door is extra large, heavy and dirty.
8. Diesel engine is punchy, loud and fairly economical about 8L/100 km. It has power, but i will recommend the petrol with 180hp, honestly.
9. Driving asistance is present most of the time with keeping you in the lanes and keeping the distance and etc, but sometimes it is gone for sleep for how knows what reason. The automatic breaking is very agresive, but that's what it's supposed to do, right.
10. Standard sound speakers is very nice, but it misses that 30-40HZ sub bass freqency, but you can enjoy music with standard sistem (for example it so much better than VW standard speakers).
11. Ride comfort is where i found most flaws. In Gt-line you don't have Active suspens control, but you can choose ECO, Normal and Sport mode, that gives you Soft, Normal and Hard suspension according to manual. In driving you can hardly feel any changes in ride comfort while changing the modes, but i think that it will get softer over time, we will see. Overall the suspension is very stiff, and you can feel every single bump on the road.

Overall the car has the beauty, but it misses the car esentials like practicality and comfort, for real.

If you can get a passenger to video the rattle issue & show your Peugeot main dealer so they can then raise an issue with Peugeot France to work on a technical solution.

When new products launch there are always issues that crop up that never showed up during testing - a decent manufacturer really wants user feedback on its new products so it can then iron out any bugs.

If you have the petrol version you get active suspension as standard, something I can confirm works for me perfectly. I believe its an optional extra on the diesel engines and only standard on GT trim and above for diesels.

I have diesel 2.0 Gt Line, and ASC was optional. I'm guessing that the ASC now can't be retrofitted, the question is there any way to replace suspension with softer ?

The guys from Peugeot service told me that there is nothing they can about it, Peugeot made new 508 stiffer, like the German rivals.
