Default Engine oil for 2011 2.2 HDi GT

Hi folks,

I have been getting conflicting info around the correct oil spec for my 508.

Manual says ACEA A3/B4 (doesnt specify whether its 5w30 or 5w40)

Upon searching various sites, some come back with ACEA C2 5W30, some suggest ACEA C3 and some suggest ACEA A3/B4 5W40.

Has A3/B4 superseded by C2 or C3? Please can someone point me to the right direction?

Many thanks

Go to your local motor factor, quote the registration number, and they will happily sell you the correct oil. No need to overthink this.

Roger.

How can store get your car details from registration number?

In the UK there is a vehicle data base most motor factors subscribe to. It makes getting the correct parts much more straightforward than back when we relied on the owners knowing what they were talking about.

Not much help if you are in Slovenia though.

Roger.

It makes is easier for the poor person in the part dept as well. My Son works in the parts department of a Dealer and they get them all, the classic one was a guy comes in and asks for oil and a filter for a Vauxhall Astra, son says I need a bit more information than that sir so he says it a blue one
