Default vacuum valves

Right where do the pipes go from the valve. 2.0hdi the electro valve at the back is the red one and has 2 pipes. 1 goes to the wastegate actuator and the other goes somewhere else. But what way round should they be. 1 has vac on it and 1 has out. Any ideas?

The out goes to the wastegate on the turbo the vac connects to the common vacuum feed from the vacuum pump

Ok thank you. That's the way round I have it.

I'm still getting p2562 fault even after having turbo rebuild and new position sensor. When the fault occurs the the turbo position sensor is reading -67%.

So was wondering if the valve was working incorrectly.

fault codes only tell you what the ecu sees as wrong its not always what is actually wrong have you tested vacuum levels including when under load.

I've checked for leaks with engine off. I used a vacuum tester and it held vacuum so I don't think there is any leaks.

How would I check the levels?

I find it strange that the reading for the position sensor goes -67%.

That's my thought Black mi16. So that why I'm wondering why when it faults it's at -67% for the turbo position sensor. Is it possible it's working the wrong way?

Does the new turbo position sensor need calibrating?

Make sure the correct ports are connected to the valve, and make sure there is proper vacum at the vacum side of things. I sorted out that and things worked out.

However I changed the complete vacum actuator unit with new turbo position sensor also before the problems was fixed. The old actuator was not looking too good afaik.

It's had a rebuild as was carbon up and sticking. Also had a new sensor and actuator .

Couple of concerns. The - reading when faults and also once it's faulted the exhaust sound changes. Sounds throaty if that makes sense almost like to during a regeneration of a modern vehicle. Now I've got a pre cat directly from turbo and then a box half way along the car and one at the rear. If any of these were blocked could it cause that fault?

Ok, I think I maybe can remember a bit more from the time I was struggling with the same code.

If the vacum line, fresh air line and line to the actuator is mixed up, after a while there will be a "click" sound to the vacum solenoid, and from there on it seem like the ECU gives up trying to control the solenoid.

It might be after this occurs the reading turns to a negative value?

So really make sure to connect the pipes to the correct ports. There has been a design change between old and new solenoids I think, so if yo have changed it, I would recommend to double check the connection points to make absoloutely sure they're correct.

I guess you have made sure the actuator/vacum unit itself works properly? If you hook up the vacum directly to the actuator, does it move freely? It should be possible to see this if you just remove the rear breather hose from the rear of the cam cover.
