Default Turbo whine

Turbo sounding lovely after I rebuilt it with a garret rebuild kit, it sounded nice before but it sounds really nice now!

In the video below I'm only revving to about 1200, 1300 rpm so she's spooling up slightly earlier than before too!

Ebay, I didn't get the full rebuild kit because I managed to source the shaft/impellers elsewhere.

They're about 40 for just the seals and stuff - > GT1544V Turbo repair / rebuild kit. Ford Peugeot DV6 | eBay

Or you can go the full kit and get the following -> Ford Peugeot DV6 GT1544V Complete Turbo rebuild kit | eBay

Good stuff. I posted a link to an Ebay rebuild kit the other week and someone replied a bit shirty saying they didn't make them and it was a cheap copy or something to that effect.

I'm not so sure they do either, but the way I figured it is for 40 I'm willing to give it a shot because my Turbo wouldn't have lasted much longer. If, in a few 100 miles down the road it goes pop, then it's lesson learnt and I'm back to square one.

It didn't seem like the parts were cheaply made, and it certainly sounds a lot better!

I'm not really sure what he was getting all shirty about, also some of the better known places that rebuild Turbo's use the same kit!

Ok. Sounds good though. Fair play.

Techncially they're all copies of the original Garret kit, but if it works then most excellent stuff.

Meant to post this before.

Angry compressor wheel before rebuild.

Verdict according to Garret was likely due to sticking veins.
