Default stalling petrol 2 litre auto

I have a 2007 407 2 litre petrol auto, and this is driving me crazy, when the engine is cold, if you press the accelerator a little too hard it the revs drop off and it wants to and will sometimes stall. We have tried everything new plugs, petrol filter, air filter, removed the mass airfolw meter and cleaned it, even changed the gear box oil, and still power just dies when cold, even when hot there is no real poer until revs reach 2000, no faults showing up on planet.

any ideas welcome

The 2 litre petrol doesn't have a Mass Airflow Sensor, it has a Manifold Air Pressure sensor instead. Could be the idle speed is set wrong, but I thing we need more info - time for a good olde fashined trouble code reading!

hi,

planet is showing no faults !!! i have had a few suggestions that it might be the injectors are dirty ?? or a crack somewhere around the air meter ?? does this make any sense to you

thanks

I'd get the base idle rest before going off looking randomly at stuff. Eliminate the obvious first.

Next up I'd dismantle (as much as is possible) and clean the throttle body.

There won't be any cracks around the Air Mass Meter, simply because it does not have one. They went out with the Ark on petrol cars.

thanks, well its back to the garage in an hours time, we will try the throttle body, and they are going to clean the injectors. there is a air type sensor fitted next to the airfilter, this was taken off yestyerday and cleaned (little bit of dirt inside) but seems to have made no difference, is this what you call the manifold air pressure sensor ?? could this be faulty and not show up on planet ???
