Default Shim track rod end!

Hi folks I have an issue with my track rod end
Mates always done work on my car as he is a trusted mechanic!

I have an issue with drivers side truck rod end it has the usual play in it.
Bought a replacement and he went to fit it still got
Play in it?

Could this be the home the track rod end goes into has worn away
Or
Am I right in thinking there are x 2 diff track rod ends and I may have the wrong one on anyways?
Iíll post a pic
What are my options if the hole is too
Big?
Can I get a shim installed?
Or will I need a new knuckle assembley

Many thanks in advance!
