Default Screen problems

Hi
My multifunction display screen has gone on the blink, it's ok when I first start up but then fades to virtually nothing. Will this mean a trip to Peugeot and an expensive bill or is there another way of getting around the problem.
The car is 2.2 407 auto 05 reg, any advice greatfully received.

Which screen , if it`s the rt3 try a dark reset , press and hold dark button for 10 seconds , should reset everything , if that doesn`t work then it`s a new screen.

Had the same problem on mine, fortunately the car is still under guarantee, so the agents replaced it at no cost to me. (That was before they tried to repair it, and realized that if it's stuff, it is stuff)
