Default RD4, TRIP and CLIM buttons not working

Hi all, new owner of a 2004 407 V6 petrol, just picked it up this morning.

A couple of issues have raised their heads, mainly that the trip and clim buttons don't seem to be working on the RD4. The display doesn't change when either are pressed, and the temperature is not shown, or the direction of the air etc.

The display screen was faulty previously, and it has been replaced. Is there any pairing that needs to be done to a new screen? Any other ideas?

This is what service book says:

I'd suspect that the fault is with the buttons rather than an issue with the display screen. If the replacement screen is identical to the original it should be plug & play but if it is a different type of display it could need reprogramming to tell the ECU which type of display it is.

Thanks Storeman. The other thing that is confusing me is that there is no "Trip" option on the display. So I'm unsure if that could be related to faulty buttons...?

On the 307 & 207 the different 'trip computer' options are usually selected by repeatedly pressing in the button on the end of the wiper stalk. The options available include Miles travelled since last reset, average speed, average mpg, instantaneous mpg ,miles left in tank. Not necessarily in that order and your car may have other bits of info available. I would expect the 407 to use the same wiper stalk button for the trip computer options.

Yeah it does. End of the wiper stalk.
