Default Reconditioned Steering Rack fitted - ESP error

Hi,

Have a 2004 407 2.0 HDi. Removed the steering rack to have it reconditioned. Got the job done, put it back in the car, but now I have a couple of new problems. One is the ESP has an error and won't work. When read on the computer, it said the steering direction sensor was not functioning and finally the O ring for the power steering fluid is leaking.

So a couple of questions -

Why is my ESP not working - does ECU need to be reset? We tried that but no joy.

Can o-rings be bought for the pipe?

That could be part of the problem. Where is the black connector for the comms unit?

When any work is done on steering you need to reset the steering angle sensor in the com unit using planet I done a 307 and had to remove subframe even though everything was put back the same still had to recalibrate angle sensor !!

I have been trying to recalibrate the sensor but planet isn't doing it for me. I'm wondering am I missing anything else.

One fault is a communication error with the angle sensor, another is an internal faults with the sensor.

None of these existed prior to the rack removal, so yes, obviously we missed a trick with it.

Go back and check all connectors etc have been reconnected properly and no debris has gotten in to them. If they have been disturbed then they may now be loose

How many connectors are there? I only saw one near the anti roll bar.

Did you follow my instructions from the other thread?

If it worked before you changed the steering rack it's not likely to have failed during this operation.

You mean the calibration?

I did. Seemed to fail though because it couldn't communicate with the sensor. What I am not getting though is if there is a plug missing or if there is something wrong with the plug at the anti roll bar. Frustrating.
