Default PP2000 cannot communicate with the vehicle

Car: 407SW 1.8 2005

Hi,

I am trying to check the system (and do some modifications) with the pp2000. It worked great with my previous 307SW 2004. But now i can't get it working with my new 407SW 2005.

The pp2000 is starting ok and it finds the cable but says "Cannot communicate with the vehicle".

Please help!

Are you able to try it on another car?

Is the car battery ok?

When did you last use the leads (recently/ages ago)?

Is it pp2000 or diagbox and what operating system?

Have you tried with engine running?

No other car available to test it out.
Battery is good too.
I used the cables about 6-8 months ago last time.
The software is PP2000 and have even updated version (didn't work any better).
Have tried with engine running.

The only thing it recognizes is ABS unit when i run the diagnostics...

Did both... by ecu and global...
I hear a clicking sound when testing so i think it tries to test but can't because it did not recognize the car.

Oh man, do i need to order new cable?

Where are you based?

May be ask a member near you if they would let you try it on their car, or a member with planet try their leads on your car to see whats causing your issue.

I'm in Finland
I will see if my friend still has 407 so i could test it.
No leads close to me so it might be my only option to buy new cable...

Okay. I want to clear this up if anyone accidentally ends up seeking help about the same problem.
The reason was the cables. Got new ones (a more expensive one than a made in China...) and now working great.
So if buying cables - spend a couple of extra $ and buy a higher quality ones.

often the problem is poor crimps on the clone OBDC connector and the round multi pin connector on the interface lead, if you open them up and solder the crimps to improve connection it often fixes the problem
