Somehow doubt there'll be many want to take that on for you. While some of the members are vehicle technicians, they support the board in their spare time and don't mind giving advice and technical knowledge so another member can make an informed decision as to whether they want to tackle the problem themselves or take it to a garage for repairs. Many members are also happy to run a diagnostic check on a car to aid with the fault finding.

Changing a cam belt is a totally different ball game though. With all the inherrent risks involved and the likelyhood of adverse backlash should the car have issues shortly after the belt being changed. Most members are quite happy to do this job on their own car and accept the possibility of messing it up with all the repurcussons and costs but on someone elses car - not sure you'll get any offers to actually do the job tho you may get some advice. Even if someone was to offer to fit the kit, you probably wouldn't have any kind of warranty on the work carried out.

I'd suggest you pick up the relevant Haynes manual and consider taking the job on yourself. An extra 20 or so and if done correctly a great deal of satisfaction.

If I had a job of about five or six belts it'd be worth my while coming over!
Same as the lad fixing the heater boxes.

Guess I was wrong. Kind of surprised but wish you the best in getting it sorted out.

Hi Storeman, thanks for your comments. I have already got a workshop manual ta.
If I felt confident enough to do the job, I wouldn't have posted on here. I know my limitations. Each to their own.

I can recommend someone on the Wirral, he did my 306 last month.

But the problem is what you do for the day while its being worked on. We could always get ratted down at the finest pub in Birkenhead
