Default Momentary lapse...

Above being knackered from the little babby, I was 19.42 into putting unleaded into my car last night before I realised.

Faced with RAC wanting 200 + Fuel my other option was to fill the rest up with diesel and hope it diluted it enough.

Worked out it was just less than a quarter of a tank of unleaded and over 3 quarters diesel - what is everyones view - will I be ok.

Car ran fine last night and this morning, was empty when filled up.

Thanks

Keep topping up with diesel and replace fuel filter at least twice.

Cheers - is the fuel filter easy enough to find on these - not had a look as of yet so might jump out at me right away.

Will the fuel pump be ok?

it might be prudent to put in a double dose of the 2 stroke additive as well to help lube the pump too..
both petrol and diesel are made up of about 20 different components -some common to both fuels so even 'petrol' and 'diesel' aren't so different really,
so probably best to just thicken it up a bit as a belt n braces measure..

Ah never thought of that - I assume with a full tank adding this would be ok - cheers for responses.

Well takes a bit longer to start sometimes - and a bit more smokey on startup, but giving it a blast down motorway daily also.

For some reason sounds a bit more tappety also?! but drives ok

I didnt in the end no - I had a couple of people tell me not to and just do the 3/4 tank then top up, so was a bit torn. Starts better now so hoping all passing through - plus had a good chat with a mechanic that came into work and he is going to check it out for me after - so should be ok i hope.

Cheers

Tank is nearly on 3/4 now, so how much would you say to put in if that's the case? i'm guessing its a set mix, so about 90 litres left?
