Default Low oil pressure

Hi all

Currently getting low oil pressure warning. Only happens after I've shut down engine and restart? Water and oil in normal temp range.

Example - I can drive 100 miles plus and get no warning. Turn off and restart within 15 mins I get warning. Only there for 5 secs then goes.

Engine sounds fine when warning appears. No loss in idle control or anything.

Just about to change oil. Currently wondering if oil pressure sender is going U/S?

Anyone else had this? Engine is 2.7 hdi.

Cheers

And have you checked the oil level?
This can also be an electrical problem. The engine bay fusebox gives the oil pressure 12v to make it operate and the oil pressure against the sensor completes the circuit. No 12v, no oil pressure. No earth, no oil pressure. But purely electrical.

I would put a new switch in, there are cheap and easy to change, if it still says its low, get the oil pressure checked.
Cheers John

Cheers guys

I am thinking switch is U/S. Gives me good pointers to go on. I'll update once I've had a look :-)
