Default how do you bleed the fuel filter?

1.6hdi 407 06 plate.

This may seem a basic question but the fuel filter on my 407 doesn't drain so I'm wondering whether I'm doing something wrong. I changed the filter the original didn't drain and nor does the replacement. it has a knob on the top marked with a water drip symbol but opening that just lets air but no fuel/water out. Has anyone else had this problem?

Default

I don't think you bleed those. The in tank fuel pump fills it up.

Default how do you bleed fuel filter

the only problem mine doesn't have a lift pump in the tank it only has two wires for the sender signal. the filter has a drain tap and I have always been able to drain the water off on all previous diesels I have had.
I cannot see what I am doing wrong

Default bleeding fuel filter

sussed this one.
the drain tap needs to be opened fully (drip symbol, back right side) then mine had a second tap (wavy line symbol, front right side) which lets air in the top and one squeeze of the priming bulb and contents of filter syphons out.
