Default Hi I need Help Again Please

Hi I posted a thread earlier about my car's (Peugeot 407 2l hdi) starter motor, thanks for the great advice by the way.

I cannot afford to take it to the garage to be repaired but my brother said that he would replace it for me if I get a replacement one.

Does anyone know please how to take the broken one off and how to replace the new one? Would there be a step-by-step guide available on line anywhere please? If so I can print it off for him to follow tomorrow, he won't do it unless he has instructions to follow.

Any advice would be greatfully received, thanks in advance

just a bit of info, you can pick up starter motors and alternators up cheap from here:

.: Starter Motor & Alternator Company - Car Parts :.

i used them for my focus, dealer wanted 350 for a new alternator, these had one in stock brand new and had it to me next day for 120.

but as for fitting im not sure and hope someone can pass the info

Take a look at this post by trem it's for clucth replacement but starter needs to come of to do it.

Check eurocarparts for starter, discounts always on, site just gone down for maintenance but sure I saw a starter for less than 100 and then some more off with a discount code.

Dont think they are hard to change 3 bolts but awkward and remember to let your ecu`s go to sleep before disconnecting battery.

Will or should tell you in the handbook how long alot say 3 mins but i am sure it can differ with models.

Eurocarparts are selling them for 64.80 inc VAT + a 54 surcharge (refunded when you give them your old starter, so I'm guessing they're reconditioned)

A lot of places do this, don't know if the one you buy is reconditioned, or they just take old ones to sell as reconditioned.
