Default Fading display NOT mfd

On Monday we were out and about in the car and i noticed that the mileage display(between the speedo and rev counter) was starting to fade a bit, not a lot but the top line or so was definitely fading. this morning when everything had cooled down all was well so i'm assuming its heat related and going to get worse as the summer  gets here and things get warmer.
anybody had this issue and what's involved with changing it ??
Also what's the law say on not being able to read the current mileage if it gets worse ???

Funny you should mention this. Mine has a veeerrryyy faint line at the top were you can't read it. I hope the bugger doesn't start on like the MFD.

Mine also sometimes are more or less dead on the uppermost line in the instrument cluster display.

But some days it's working perfectly.

It's been like this since I got it and not gotten any worse, so probably nothing to worry about
