Default Doh!

Used the toolkit towing eye but it has seized and wont undo, its turning the thread it screwed into. So do I need to remove the rear bumper and metalwork underneath it to fix this or has some shining star from the forum got an idea? A pre-emptive no to ideas of; scrap it, burn it or give it away, but useful advice will be warmly welcomed, thank you in advance, Brad

The metal nut is encapsulated in the plastic-composite rear bumper reinforcment. A good tow and the nut inside is freed and .... you already know the result. So the cure is to remove the rear bumper and change the reinforcement afterwards. Someone here made some additional metal bracket and welded it to the nut to prevent this in the future.
