Default Depollution System faulty

Hi All

I have a 2007 407 Coupe 3.0V6 and for the past month or so I have been experiencing some stuttering under heavy acceleration. I have been putting this off having this looked at until this month when it was due its service however upon starting it up this morning I received the error 'Depollution system faulty' and the car is now running terribly. It is very juddery on start up and acceleration and seems down on power. I don't believe it has gone into limp mode but is running like a dog, especially when pulling away in 1st/2nd gear.

Any idea what the depollution error refers to? Could the stuttering under acceleration that preceded the depollution error help identify what the possible issue is?

I know ultimately i need to get it plugged in and the error codes read, however just wondered if anyone could hazard a guess at what I might be dealing with.

Also can anyone recommend any good independent Peugeot specialists in the Leeds area?

Any advise would be appreciated

Hi, i have a 3 litre v6 coupe and had the depollution fault, turned out to be a coil pack failure, these are supposed to be a problem on this engine, i had a couple fail witin a month of each other so had all 6 changed, no problems since, you still will probably need a diagnostic to clarify the problem as i could be wrong . Maybe one of the more experienced members will come along with a bit of advice for you.

Hi Stu,

Thanks for your reply, I have taken it for a diagnostic check today and it appears one of my cylinders is not running correctly and it has been identified as a coilpack failure. Apparently these are quite a job to change as it involves removing the manifold to get at them all so my mechanic has advised changing them all while he is in there along with the plugs. Do you mind me asking how much you were charged to have them replaced?

hi mate. from what i can remember i had them all replaced with delphi coil pks, there are some which are better makes than others, the front 3 are easy to replace, its the back 3 which take up the labour time, the delphi coil pks where reccommended, cost me approx 320.00 inc labour. hope this helps,
