Default Coupe Door Handle Question

Sorry if this has been answered anywhere, I couldn't find any relevant threads.

I'm trying to remove the door handle from my 2006 Coupe, drivers (RHD) side.

On the saloon there is a screw accessible from the side of the door frame, that releases the lock, but the Coupe seems to be different.

I have the door card removed and the lock mechanism undone. I just need to disconnect the external door handle cable or remove the handle completely to do that. I can't see any screws or fixings inside the frame.

Default Sticky Door Closed Switch

The reason I was trying to remove the mechanism was because the door closed mechanism had failed and the window was dancing up and down. Also the Door Open message was appearing on the dash display.

This appears to be due to the (spring loaded?) door position switch sticking.

I resolved it (possibly on a temporary basis) by bolting the lock back into position, flooding the mechanism with WD40, and belting it with a rubber mallet (where it attaches to the door by the two screws).

I had to do this a few times but for now it's behaving itself. I followed up the WD40 with a good dose of 3 in 1 and a few more mallet whacks for good measure.

I didn't manage to figure out how to remove the door handle!
