Default To chip or rewrite ECU

Heya folks
Newbie first post ..so hello all.
I have just purchased a 2008 2.7 coupe and was looking to put a bit more sting in the tail.
My question is how many have either piggy backed or had their ECU re- written/mapped to gain HP and NM
I am in Australia and look to have fairly limited options with a reburn of the ECU so looked at the piggy back chip systems.
Can I ask for some feedback on preferences and results please before I open the wallet and let the moths out.

Hi buddy.

I had mine remapped a while ago and drives a lot better, no issues. The map runs it at 244 I believe and now at 520 NM.

Cheers

Greetings Peter,

Saw your post so can share my experience.
I live in Tasmania and took the car over to Vic to get the 307 1.6 hdi remapped and the FAP dealt with permanently by a guy in Ballarat.

Steve downloads the ecu data and sends it to the UK, and gets the remapped programme the following day which is then uploaded into the ecu.
Cost $1000 then, but worth it for the change in performance, economy and savings from having a redundant FAP.
I posted some time ago on aussiefrogs, and caused a strong reaction as it is an offence apparently to fiddle with a pollution system.
There are other firms that offer similar service, just look around.
Cheers,
Peter
