Sounds like a faulty CD player. Off to a specialist, or slip in a new 'un.

On mine it was something stuck in the mechanism. Repaired by dealer who sold me the car... Said it was a bit of broken CD.

did yours accept the disc then try and read it, or spit it stright back out without trying to load...................and how would a broken cd get in there in the first place

Accepted it, tried to read, then spat it out. No idea how it got in.... It didn't work when I bought the car, and the dealer got it fixed, so haven't got much detail.

well mine has been cleaned checked for foreign matter and watched the disc go in the centre spindle come down while the egg timer goes on the display but the disc does not spin up to be read so i would suspect the motor is gone checked for dry joints on the connections which where OK. Was worth a try just have to replace it which i guess will mean a trip to a auto tech to Vin code a replacement in. Thank God i didn't get rid of my torx drivers or i would have been stuffed for got the french obsession with these
