I am asking you guys for your better 407 wisdom. This car is my first 407 and it's a 2.0 HDI zenith.
It's the first car that I've had that is this big and heavy and I was wondering what tips any of you other owners could give with regards to driving and getting a good MPG. My last car was a Picasso with 2.0hdi but that was 90bhp compared to 139bhp and the picasso weights less that 1 tonne compared to 1.6 tonne for the zenith.
I drove to Manchester and back the other week and it seemed that the faster I went, 80mph the better the mpg. 50mpg. I'm finding that I am loosing most of my fuel on hills as the car loses momentum and then the weight to get it up hill drops the MPG into the lower 20's.
Any driving tips would be much appreciated.

i find it helps to let it warm up to temp ,take it easy -low ish speed ,then when warm get up to speed and into 6th asap and set cruise at 70 if you can,
and have found its better over 70 too -try to keep near 2,000 rpm for max torque and 'on boost' for better economy,
+ drop it down a gear for hills of course avoid engine labouring,
keep it near 2k as you can on a lightish throttle,
avoiding hoofing it when possible
55mpg+ avg -and mines down to 51mpg av including local town driving at moment
