Default Battery charging.

Does anyone use an intelligent chargers like the one above to charge the battery of their car while still connected to the car.

Yes I use one on my bike and have used it on car with no issues

Cheers, same here got permanent connections to bike batteries for over the winter, but whenever I have had a problem with the 407 battery I have always removed it to charge it up.
Next question:-
You can permanently connect a connection lead to the vehicle. How/where could I connect it on the 407 which has quick release clamps onto the battery terminals. Would it be OK to connect +ve to the permanent live inside the fuse/relay box (this is where I took the permanent live for the tow bar wiring) and the -ve to an earth point.

You can connect live to terminal in fuse box and on 307 not sure on 407 there is a body earth point on inner wing in front of battery
