First of welcome to the forum, Can tell your not the kind of person to just register for one specific problem then disappear forever

I'd check the leads to the battery are on correctly and in good condition. My brothers car as a manky negative lead and caused similar problems to what your describing. Other then that check your alternator and belt for any signs of damage.

If you put up more details, ie car and location, one of the experienced chaps with diagnostic kit may come out to you and help out.

All the systems on these need good voltage to work properly as soon as the alternator stops behaving the systems throw out their dummy so once alternator fixed it will be good as new

I had these exact symptoms on the 407. Same cause too, the alternator failed spectacularly.

Sure a local indy could fit a recon alternator for less than half that price. I changed the alternator on my old 2.2 HDI 807 about 4 yrs ago and it was not a bad job and the alternator was about 100.00 for an exchange unit.

You may also find local auto electrician maybe able to repair alternator if its brush pack or regulator fault
