Default Auto gearbox

Hi ALL,

I have a 407sw 2007 auto diesel and having gearbox issue, no warning lights ETC, but sometimes mainly when engine hot and sometimes up an incline if I put my foot down a little it revs high and does not want to go in the next gear or it will clunk in a gear, taking it to dealers Monday but if it is the gearbox I wont be buying one from them at the price he quoted, does anyone know of a good reliable place to get a recon one near the Hampshire surrey Berkshire border?
thanks for all replies,

Do you have the gear change paddles on the steering wheel? I have found on my EGC "auto" gearbox if it revs too high you can just flip the + paddle and it will change up even if it's in auto mode.

No, it has the conventional auto stick but appreciate the reply, seems to be the only issue I have had with the car and it takes the pleasure out of what an otherwise nice car it is,

cheers again
