Default 407hdi sport o9 plate

I recently had a timing belt problem which resulted in the garage I use replacing 2 valves and 10/12 rockers. once built up the engine would start but not run on its own. They have run out of ideas, towing to build up oil pressure! can anyone offer any help as I am a taxi driver and not worked for 3 weeks now

Dont understand fully what you mean by towing to build up oil pressure

Does it start off key ?

Does it smoke rattle or sound rough when running ?

Did the belt actually snap ?

sorry I am the least techy guy in the world. The belt did not break but lost lots of teeth. It will start on a boost but not run on its own.as for the tow-just going on what they are telling me

Ok tell them they need to check the exhaust cam pulleys both the outer on the belt and the internal 1 on the chain as they can move when the valves and pistons touch this in turn knocks the timing out even if the belt is set correctly.

They will no doubt say these are fine but i have seen this a few times and it is easily overlooked
salster and pete407sw like this.
