Default 407 Tyre pressure not monitored issue after replacing the valve only

Recently on my 2.0 HDi 407 I found my N/S/R tyre valve body had either clipped something or disintegrated through age (its an 04 plate).

So I had the tyre removed from the rim and fitted a replacement valve body
which I purchased of ebay to save the cost of replacing the sensor and the requirement for reprogramming.

I did run round for a couple of days on my steel spare tyre before I sorted the
monitors alloy.

The car when I swapped tyres and put the steel spare on still monitored the alloy in the boot, and when I had the tyre taken off the rim it detected a flat tyre (as it should). These warnings stopped after a while which I thought odd and the next morning had a "tyre pressures not monitored" warning pop up just once then vanish.

Now the system still seems to be monitoring pressure on each wheel fine dispite the warning, and the warning occurs only once.


What could have gone wrong here, as the original paired sensor is still fitted, should it not recognise it as a functioning tyre again now its repaired?

And is there any way to sort this outside of having to take it to a Peugeot main dealer and have them reset?

Where are you based?

Sometimes the valves require extra pressure in the tyre to wake the sensor so to speak, then driven for a while and pressure then returned to normal.

I just got all mine replaced with rubber valves and then got the system switched off with planet. I have reverted back to the old method of looking at the tyre and checking the pressure with a gage etc. NO more issues How ever whilst at National tyres today getting my tracking done after fitting some new tyres to my 407sw I noticed that they are now advertising that they are looking after TPMS service of a valve was about 20 and replacements where about 42 Dunno if this would help but I suppose it can't hurt to pop in and ask them as they allegedly have TPMS specialists ( prob a guy picked out at random who works there )

Nearest Town is Warrington, Cheshire.

And I have not driven with it on yet, it could well sort itself out if your right, I'll know in the next day or so I guess.

Thats doesn't seem to bad cost wise either, thanks for the info

Snap i got all those valves removed and put normal ones in but haven't switched it off as my planets is still not working. To just have it go beep and tell you they are not monitored is not a problem only happens once every so often 1 hr /hour and a half, not a worry to be honest

I had to get mine turned off as the beeping was doing my head in. As I'm an impatient little monkey I went to the Stealers to get mine turned off didn't think it was too bad as if my memory serves me correctly it was about 50 and that was for deactivating them and activating my aux input

Interesting read there lads cheers I am changing my Peugeot 16" alloys to a different set as I can not find a tyre garage that can balance them for me.......
Thinking of 17" 215/55 17r will I run into any problems sorry going back to the rubber valve system......
Any advise would be super

Why can't you find a tyre garage that can balance them??? You shouldn't have any issues getting rid of the TPMS just the usual warnings etc of flat tyre and sensor not detected etc etc until you get it deactivated by either someone with Planet or the stealers. Having said that though when myself and the tyre fitters where looking at my wheels there is what I can only describe as sections cut out of the back of the alloy rim which we assume is to offset the weight of the TPMS sensor so when you get them balanced they seem to require a few more weights than normal to counter act this but I always ask for the stick on ones so that you can't easily see them and they don't ruin the look of the alloy wheel.
