Default 407 clutch 1.6hdi clutch plate which way round???

Hi Wondering If u could help me

I'm doing a clutch an flywheel on my 407 and forgot which way round the clutch plate went... It's genuie clutch kit and it don't say on the plate flywheel side or gearbox side
Does the pertruding(sticky out bit on plate) go towards the gearbox or engine????
Seems to fit both ways :s thanx

Towards the engine. I also forgot which way round it went, put it in with the protruding bit towards the gearbox and found I couldn't get the box fully mated to the engine again. Turned it round and it went back together fine. More importantly it's been driving fine since.

The reason the box wouldn't mate with the engine with the protruding bit towards the box...the sleeve on the gearbox shaft that the clutch release bearing slides on met the protruding bit of the clutch plate, keeping the box & engine about 3/4 inch apart.
