Default 407 Buying guide??

Is there a 407 buying guide on this forum?
Tried doing a couple of searches, but no luck

I'm hoping ( providing the bank approves the loan i've applied for ) to upgrade from my 406 HDi 110 to a 407 SW 2.2 HDi 170

A mate of mine is a mechanic, and I have a car I have my sights on, and he said he will come with me to make sure I get the right car

However, is there any 407 specific items I should be looking at?

I guess with the 406, and french electrics, I should be making sure the electrics work fine
I do believe ABS sensors are common for replacement?
I would also guess Anti pollution faults with the FAP are a favourite as well?

hi plod youve kinda got the issues covered with the electric's..make sure everything works
ABS sensors are a reasonably common fault but very easy to solve

depending on the year bottom ball joints are a common fault which again are very easily fixed ie: under 40 for parts and theres a 'how-to' on here to sort it yourself.
Fap is again a known issue depending on mileage (Bettyswollocks will no doubt be along soon to shout "remove it") all sorted fairly cheaply if you have access to peugeot plant (theres a map on here)
The sw seems to have some problems with the rear window(glass) not shutting properly and frustrating owners, again sorted easily as is the rattle from the same area.

Dont know much about the 2.2 170 really, could try joining 407owners (yep i'm there) and asking again (10) to join tho and not as busy as 406oc but still a wealth of info.
Have you got any pic's links of the car your thinking of buying??
Need any more info let me know, if you can get the vin we can find out lots about it

Car is a 2007 that i'm looking at

I guess VIN would be to put into Service Box to get "characteristics" info off there I assume?
If so, I have a Service Box account, so might enquire with the seller

Been meaning to buy a cloned reader for some time, as I have seen them for less than 90, but as my 406 has been so little trouble, I've held back
With spending more money on a 407, then it seems a more viable proposition to purchase
