Default 407 ABS and ESP failure

I have had a 307 1.6 petrol for 4 years, and it has been so good to me. never any problems. I finally decide that on 215000 miles its time to upgrade. So I bought a 407 1.6hdi from an auction. However 1 month on and im starting to get some problems:

"abs failure esp with an X through it" comes up on my dash every time I turn on the car.

Has anyone else had this problem or how have you got around it?

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a faulty abs sensor (speed sensor)..again you'll need planet or equivalent to see whats causing this problem...

I've come across 2 now with cracked ABS rotors, but as Risky says, you need Planet to determine at which wheel the fault lies.
