Default What does this number mean on the dashboard?

Hi all

When I turn the ignition on a number briefly flashes up before the odometer shows (see attached image). Can anyone tell me what it means please as I don't have a manual? I'm assuming it's something like miles until next service?

Edit: Sorry, just noticed the image is upside-down but I'm sure you get the drift...

Thanks

Tim

Look here for handbooks, select your country first at the top right:

Thanks both.

Re the handbook website, unfortunately the earliest 406s that have online manuals are 2002. Mine is 2000...

The 2000 and the 2002 are much the same as far as fixtures and fittings. The only difference is the later car has a Comms unit, and a more sophisticated BSI to control the extra ECUs.

The 2000 has less issues with wiring too.....
